Conor McGregor UFC news: Notorious shares adorable sparring session with son Conor Jr as he hits at UFC comeback

Conor McGregor has dropped another hint that we haven't seen the last of the former UFC two-weight champion in the Octagon.

The Notorious one took to Instagram to share adorable snaps of a sparring session with his one-year-old son Conor Jr. as he adds more fuel to the fire that his apparent return to the sport.

The hint comes after the Dubliner claimed he was walking away for a second time via a short tweet last week.

But McGregor appeared to confirm he will return to the Octagon while making a half-baked apology for an alleged racial slur against Khabib Nurmagomedov’s wife.

On Wednesday, the former two-weight champion called his rival’s wife a “towel” in a post that drew widespread condemnation.

He quickly deleted the tweet before later saying: “I want to move forward, with my fans of all faiths and all backgrounds.

“All faiths challenge us to be our best selves. It is one world and one for all. Now see you in the Octagon.”

But it seems like father, like son as Conor Jr. looked to get the better of his dad in the ring.

In the Instagram post, McGregor said: "Alright my champion that’s great work today, I’ll catch you next session...

"What goes around comes around I guess."

There's bad blood between the fighters after Khabib defeated McGregor in Las Vegas last October and instigated a post-fight brawl that saw both men serve NSAC bans for their conduct.

The Twitter war had escalated to such levels this week that UFC president White had to step in on Wednesday, saying: "I am aware of the recent social media exchange between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.

"The ongoing situation has escalated to a level that is unacceptable. As such, we are taking the necessary steps to reach out to both athlete camps and this situation is being addressed by all parties internally."
