Conor McGregor UFC News: Notorious pictured in cast after hand surgery

Conor McGregor has been pictured wearing a cast over his hand as he promotes his whiskey business in Dublin.

The ex-Lightweight and Featherweight champion was training for a UFC return when he was injured in sparring.

And the Irishman has now posted a series of Instagram photos showing him walking around the streets of the capital sporting a large cast over his injured hand.

In the photos, which appear to be taken as part of a promotional campaign for his August/McGregor line of suits and Proper 12 whiskey brand, he is seen wearing the cast over his left hand.

Meanwhile, Artem Lobov has revealed how Conor McGregor reacted to his unanimous decision win over rival Paulie Malignaggi on Saturday night.

The former UFC star stunned fight fans when he beat Paulie in a Bare Knuckle boxing match at BKFC 6 in Florida over the weekend.

And speaking on the MMA Hour after the show, Lobov revealed that McGregor was in touch afterwards to celebrate the result, saying: “I spoke to Conor, he said that was a good performance.

"[He said] I dominated the fight, I pressed the action all the time and he said it was a very good performance and a great win for me.”

It comes as Conor McGregor's coach is confident the former UFC champion has his mojo back.

The Irishman has not fought since he was beaten by lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov last October.

He appeared to have retired earlier this year before performing a U-turn - for the second time.

McGregor's long-time trainer John Kavanagh feared his star pupil had lost his hunger.

"I guess what I was really trying to say was I really want to see him motivated," Kavanagh told  ESPN . "And he probably said in the Tony Robbins interview where he spoke about losing that for a bit.

"And this is a game where it’s full-on, it’s full contact [and] it’s dangerous. When he won the second belt when he beat Eddie [Alvarez], he’d achieved everything he set out to achieve.

"He was very wealthy, he was world champion. So you’ve got to then take some time and think, well, what’s going to motivate you to do it anymore?

“He said himself that that became a bit of a problem. What is it? Is it getting another belt? Is it make some more money?

“And I think what has come back around is the love of the sport. He loves doing it, he loves training [and] he loves competing.

"And legacy, that he’s remembered being one of the best, if not the best ever.

“So that’s what’s really come back into him since the beginning of the year, that's what I wanted to see, because he’s obviously a very well-known student of mine, but he’s also somewhat like a kid brother.

“You wouldn't want to see him doing something just for the sake of doing it and maybe getting hurt or whatever because he’s not fully there. But now he absolutely is.”

McGregor could return later this year with Nate Diaz - with whom he has twice shared the Octagon - among his possible opponents.
