Conor McGregor UFC news: Notorious and Dee Devlin throw lavish party for daughter Croia's christening

Conor McGregor threw a lavish party for his daughter Croia's christening on Sunday.

The Notorious and his partner Dee Devlin spared no expense for their youngest as family and friends attended the celebration at Luttrellstown Castle in Castleknock, Dublin.

Croia, who was born in early January, is Conor and Dee's second child, and she was in the centre of attention at the bash.

Dad Conor and her brother Conor Junior, 2, both donned smart suits, while Dee stunned in a pink floral dress.

Conor's parents Margaret and Tony and sisters Erin and Aoide were also there for Croia's big day.

And grandfather Tony marked the occasion with some hand rolled cigars that he posted on social media.

The younger guests could enjoy plenty of entertainment with a large bouncy castle, pink tepees and garden games, while there was a champagne reception for the older attendees.

Floyd Mayweather has hit back at Conor McGregor's latest jibe as their war of words continues.

The pair faced off in one of the highest-grossing boxing matches in history back in 2017.

Their bout was dogged with pre and post-fight trash talk between the pair which has rumbled on since the contest in Las Vegas.

McGregor recently posted an image of Mayweather cowering away from him during the bout, along with the line: "Caption this."

And the Dubliner has drawn a reaction from the 42-year-old, who promptly fired back on Instagram .

In a similar post, Mayweather published a picture of him connecting with a punch to McGregor's face, and wrote: "GIVE ME THE BEST CAPTION YOU CAN THINK OF."

McGregor was quick to comment on the post, seemingly ignoring his rivals dig by pointing to the makers of the shorts he was wearing in the picture.

The back-and-forth between the pair will come as no surprise to fans who have become accustomed to their constant bickering over social media.

It is unlikely they will step back in the ring together, but the same cannot be said for Mayweather and another of his former foes Manny Pacquiao.

The duo fought back in 2015, and have been tipped for a money-spinning rematch.

However Mayweather recently denied that a repeat of the clash was on the cards when quizzed by reporters.

He said: "No. I don't want to do business with him any more.

"I'm a professional. I've dealt with the biggest and some of the best companies in the world.

"Bad business on that side, period. I knew it. Excuses, excuses, excuses."

McGregor meanwhile is on hiatus from the UFC, but it is unknown whether he will return to the Octagon.

Speculation suggests the Notorious lightweight will battle Khabib Nurmagomedov for a second time after their bout in October last year, which ended in a post-fight brawl.

However, Khabib has stated that he will not return to fighting until his two team mates have served the bans they received for their roles in the fracas.

Meanwhile, WWE legend Trish Stratus believes that a move to wrestling could work for McGregor.

The Hall-of-Fame superstar, who will wrestle her final match against Charlotte Flair at Summerslam tonight in Toronto, said The Notorious has the charisma to make the transition.

Speaking exclusively to the Irish Mirror, Stratus, 42, said: “I think he could fit in with WWE.

“Look at Ronda Rousey and how she transitioned, she did a beautiful job.

“I think athletically these guys are there and it’s just about fine tuning it to a different platform.

“As long as you’ve got that charisma and you can channel it in a certain way, then it can definitely translate.”

Meanwhile, Colby Covington believes Jorge Masvidal would "piece up" McGregor.

'Chaos' thinks the Irishman would be too small to take on his American Top Team teammate.

The Notorious has been linked with fighting Masvidal despite Dana White ruling out a potential bout.

But Covington is adamant his friend would easily beat McGregor.

"He would piece up Conor for sure," Covington told Submission Radio.

"No doubt about it. Conor’s too small. He’s a little guy and you know, this and that."

Speaking on a potential fight with McGregor previously, Masvidal said: "I want McGregor. I want to break his face. I think that's an easy paycheck.

"He's got these cash symbols written all over his face for me.

"I just don't see it going his way if I'm honest with you."

But White is having none of it.

The UFC chief has worked closely with McGregor throughout his rise to prominence in the company and even his venture into the boxing world, and insists that the company will offer Masvidal a fight rather than meet his demands.

"You can't make ultimatums," White said.

"Listen, we're going to offer him a fight, and if he accepts the fight, he does and if he doesn't, he doesn't."
