Conor McGregor UFC News: Michael 'Venom' Page says he would love to fight Notorious in Dublin

Bellator MMA superstar Michael ‘Venom’ Page has said he would love to fight Conor McGregor in Dublin if the UFC would agree to co-promote with their rivals.

Page, 32, has fought professionally in both boxing and MMA, and claimed that the opportunity to square off against the Notorious in his hometown would be “amazing”.

He told the Irish Mirror: “I’m not fussed about chasing anybody and I respect [McGregor] massively; what he’s done for himself and what he’s done for the sport is amazing.

"So if our paths cross it would be hella exciting, it would be amazing, and I would love to come to be able to come back here and do that.”

Page is set to face Irish fighter Richard Kiely in the co-main event of Bellator Dublin at the 3Arena on Friday.

And the Londoner doesn’t expect to have any issues dispatching his, in MMA terms, relatively inexperienced opponent, even with a raucous Dublin crowd sure to support local favourite Kiely.

Page continued: “I just don’t believe in his talk. Does it match his abilities? I don’t believe it does.

“You have to take everyone seriously, but at the same time, outside of that, objectively speaking, I don’t take him seriously. But you still have to go through the motions.

“I’ve been here before. People forget my first fight in Bellator was against a guy from Maine, in Maine, and I literally got booed the whole walk-out, knocked him out in nine seconds, and then got cheered on the way out. And I expect this to be along the same kind of lines.”

The British kickboxer also confirmed that he is planning a quick turnaround to fight at Bellator London when the promotion returns to the SSE Arena, Wembley on November 23.

He added: “I want to go back-to-back, so as soon as I finish this fight I’m back in camp, and then I’m fighting in London.

“I’m just not sure who against yet, I’m just waiting.”

Tickets for Bellator Dublin are on sale now through Ticketmaster.ie  and  Bellator.com , as well as the 3Arena box office.
