Floyd Mayweather beat Conor McGregor in the boxing ring back in August 2017 with relative ease - but Manny Pacquaio reckons it would be a different story if the met in the octagon for an MMA bout.
The Dubliner has been linked with a Mayweather rematch since their money-spinning first fight with McGregor keen to get Mayweather in the cage to fight in his speciality discipline.
Pacquiao, who knows Mayweather well as a boxer after their long-awaited clash in 2015, reckons the Notorious one would get the better of the unbeaten American if they met on his terms.
The Filipino, who is preparing for his latest fight against Keith Thurman on Saturday night, highlighted the different demands of the two sports in terms of stamina to explain his theory.
"MMA and boxing is different, especially boxing. In boxing if you don't have enough stamina, you'll be in trouble," Pacquiao explained to ESPN.
"They both can compete but the thing is it depends what arena they're going to fight.
"If you're going to fight in MMA rules, the MMA fighter has the advantage."
Mayweather has not appeared in the ring competitively since his clash with McGregor, although he did take on Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa last year in an exhibition bout.
Pacquiao, however, has been linked with a rematch with his former foe if he can be tempted out of retirement - and the 40-year-old says he is ready if Mayweather, 41, does decide to return to action.
"If he coming back and decided to fight me, I'm here," Pacquiao declared.
