Conor McGregor UFC news: Manager Abe Kawa claims Notorious is being protected from fighting Jorge Masvidal

Abe Kawa claims Conor McGregor is being protected from a bout with his fighter Jorge Masvidal.

'Gamebred' recently called out the Irishman, but Dana White later said "hell no" to the fight happening.

The UFC President told TMZ: "There's plenty of fights for him in his weight division without Conor. He's too big for Conor, Conor doesn't belong at 170... Hell no.

"He shouldn't have [fought at welterweight against Nate Diaz twice in 2016], and I hated that he did it, not only did I hate that he did it once, I hated that he did it twice."

Addressing White's comments, Kawa told MMA Junkie: “God bless Dana, he’s protecting Conor. He wants to make sure Conor doesn’t get his ass whooped. And that’s fine.”

Meanwhile, McGregor is believed to have finally settled down and ended his Irish house hunt by splashing out on a €2 million home in Co Kildare - which is the home of a former taoiseach's son.

The former UFC two-weight champ has reportedly purchased a lavish mansion in Castledillon, after spending much of the previous four years house hunting around the Straffan area.

The 31-year-old is no stranger to the area, having previously moved into a plush mansion on the grounds of the K Club at the elite gated Ladycastle community, famous for hosting the Ryder Cup in 2006, back in 2015.

The Paddocks, as the mansion is known, was the family home of the son of former taoiseach Albert Reynolds' son, Albert Jr.

And the younger Reynolds stands to make a serious profit on the property, having bought the home for €1.58 million back in 2015, according to the Irish Times.

The Crumlin man's new home consists of five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen and games room, as well as frontage onto the River Liffey and horse riding facilities.

McGregor and partner Dee Devlin had considered two other properties before settling on The Paddocks to help raise their young family.
