Conor McGregor UFC news: Inside Notorious' Vegas after party following 40 second defeat of Donald Cerrone

Conor McGregor has partied the night away after his successful 40-second return to the Octagon.

Dubliner McGregor needed less than a minute to dispatch Donald Cerrone in Las Vegas have not fought since his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov 15 months ago.

McGregor exploded into life from the first bell of the welterweight bout at UFC 246, charging at his opponent before bloodying his nose with several unorthodox shoulder strikes in the clinch.

McGregor then stepped back and a precision head kick high over the guard landed square on the jaw of Cerrone, who was also caught by a flying knee and crumpled to the mat.

Cerrone was covered up as the rights and lefts rained down on him, prompting referee Herb Dean to call a halt to a brief one-sided contest within the first minute of the opening round.

After getting changed and a quick press conference, McGregor went to celebrate his victory in Sin City.

'Notorious' had already booked out Encore Beach Club as the venue for his post-fight adventures and he didn't seem shy in getting the party started.

Encore describes itself as "the hottest ticket in town" and "the party doesn't stop" on their website and was last year named the Las Vegas Day Club of the Year.

The club offers: "26 cabanas stocked with their own refrigerator, flat-screen TV and plush daybeds let guests enjoy the pool party in total comfort.

"Eight bungalows each offer a private bathroom, infinity dipping pool, cooling system, a view of the Las Vegas Strip from a private balcony and an exciting, oasis-like pool scene."

McGregor was unsurprisingly the centre of attention with camera phones flashing in his face - with everyone in the club wanting to get a snap of the comeback kid.

He signed a punter's shoe before pretending to take a shoey, ie the act of drinking from a shoe - a practise made famous by Australian F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo on podiums after races.

Journalist Marc Raimondi attended McGregor's after fight bash following his defeat to Khabib in October 2018 and admitted the vibe was unsurprisingly different.

"I came to McGregor’s UFC 229 after party at Encore Beach Club 15 months ago," Raimondi tweeted. "Completely different vibe. The loss, the brawl. People were not in the mood to have a good time.

"Tonight, in the same venue, there’s definitely a feeling that things are back to where they were before.
