Conor McGregor UFC news: Donald Cerrone sends Notorious warning over trash talk

Donald Cerrone has warned Conor McGregor that he will f*** him up 'in the lobby' if he trash talks about his grandmother or kid.

The Notorious returns to UFC action this weekend when he faces Cowboy at UFC 246 in Las Vegas.

It will be his first bout since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov over 15 months ago. The build-up to that fight was full of trash talk, but Cerrone isn't expecting similar this time around.

He told MMA Fighting : “The thing is you’d really have to go low, talk about my grandma or my kid and then it would put it on another level.

"You understand what I’m saying? Then I’ll just come f**k you up in the lobby type s**t.

“I don’t think it’s ever going to go that way. He understands that.

"We’re fighting, he can talk about that all he wants but don’t low blow.”

There had been some suggestions of a long-term feud between the pair heading into the fight after they were involved in an exchange during a press conference in 2015.

However, Cerrone insisted that the interaction was overblown and there is no bad blood with McGregor, with no significant insults yet to be shared.

“That’s just you media boys digging and shoveling for sh*t to bring up,” Cerrone added when asked about the incident.

“That’s all that was. Conor hasn’t said anything bad about me so you’ve got to go get old s**t out.”

Despite fighting at lightweight for most of his career, the contest between McGregor and Cerrone will be fought at welterweight.

And although he has chosen to fight Cerrone at the heavier weight, McGregor recently revealed that he is currently weighing only 160lb .

"I’m underweight right now," the Irishman told ESPN . "I’m underweight. I’d say [I’m weighing] 160lbs and a bit.

"I know I could have [made Cerrone cut down to lightweight] but I just don’t think he looks well at 155lb. He does not look well at 155lb, he’s a 170lb fighter.

"I don’t care. No. I beat him any bleeding way. I beat him at any weight; I beat him if I have the flu, so I don’t need that.

“I just want to focus on my training and keep me sharp. You know, I don’t have to cut and then build and then cut. I’m happy where I’m at."
