Conor McGregor UFC News: Dana White reveals meaning of cryptic 'December 14th' tweet

Conor McGregor is aiming to make his UFC return in Dublin on December 14, according to Dana White .

The Notorious, 31, recently teased the idea of a comeback fight in his home city by tweeting "Dublin, December 14".

But UFC president Dana White has now dismissed the idea, pointing out there is set to be a show in Las Vegas on that date.

However, White has now been quoted saying that he received a text message from 'The Notorious' saying he still wants a December 14 match-up.

White shared a text message he received from McGregor while addressing a potential fight between Justin Gaethje and McGregor.

“No,” said White when asked if Gaethje is who McGregor wants to fight next, according to the Express . “But I hit Conor up and asked him what he wants. And he hit me back with December 14 in Dublin.”

Last month, White was asked in a Twitter Q&A session when McGregor was going to return to the octagon, and said: "I'm sure you saw his tweet. Conor wants to fight on December 14 in Dublin, but we have a fight in Vegas.

"So if he doesn't fight on that card, he will fight early next year."

But when asked by Irish Mirror at the launch of his new SBG Ireland HQ, John Kavanagh said that he didn't know anything about the December 14th date.
