Conor McGregor UFC news: Dana White predicts who and when Notorious will fight next

Conor McGregor will likely return to the octagon in the summer to fight Donald Cerrone.

This is the prediction of UFC chief Dana White who thinks a showdown between the lightweight pair makes the most sense.

The Notorious appeared to announce his retirement from mixed martial arts in a social media post this March.

But as many suspected he has since backtracked and has been in training with a return to action expected this year.

A potential opponent is American Cerrone who defeated Al Iaquinta at UFC Ottawa last Saturday.

And White thinks the 36-year-old is the most likely match for McGregor after his submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October of last year.

“[McGregor] and I are getting together very soon, within the next week, and we’re going to figure out what’s next for him,” White told the ‘Jim Rome Show’ on Tuesday. “I see him fighting this summer.

“The Cerrone fight makes sense. There’s a couple different options out there for him. He was talking about the Cerrone fight at one point. I don’t really know but that fight makes sense.”
