Conor McGregor to return to scene of Khabib Nurmagomedov bus attack

Conor McGregor is set to return to the arena where he attacked a bus transporting UFC fighters, including Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Dubliner was arrested in 2018 after throwing a dolly through the window of a bus at a UFC media event and later appeared in court.

He was spared jail after reaching a plea deal over the attack at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York.

The former two-weight champion was charged with assault and criminal mischief after he attacked the vehicle carrying fellow fighters.

McGregor agreed to five days of community service and to take anger management classes after pleading guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct.

He is now set to return to the arena on Sunday night for the MTV Video Music Awards.

The Dubliner jetted into New York on Saturday with his fiancee Dee Devlin, having spent the past few weeks recovering from his horror leg break suffered during his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier.

The couple had been staying at the luxury Beverly Hills hotel in Los Angeles with their three children.

Sharing a picture on Instagram after landing in New York, McGregor said: "Brooklyn, New York for the MTV Video Music Awards. @properwhiskey".

The awards will include performances by Justin Bieber and the Foo Fighters, who will receive the first-ever VMAs Global Icon Award.

They take place in Brooklyn on Sunday night.
