Conor McGregor tells Sergio Ramos to 'stay ready' after Real Madrid captain's 'call-out'

Conor McGregor has joked that Spanish football star Sergio Ramos should 'stay ready' after he 'called out' the UFC ace.

Ramos, 34, is returning to fitness after a hamstring injury and posted a clip to Instagram showing his muscular physique while working out in the gym.

He jokingly captioned the photo by tagging McGregor, saying: “When you're ready, @thenotoriousmma.”

McGregor - who is also hard at work preparing for his fight with Dustin Poirier in January - replied: “Stay Ready, my brother Sergio! We have a big fight coming up.”

Real Madrid captain Ramos is a fan of the Dublin superstar and has mimicked the celebratory strut that McGregor made popular in the octagon.

McGregor previously posted a video of himself striking home a half-volley in a kickaround in his garden, along with the question "What do you think @sergioramos?"

The Spaniard replied: "Top class, mate! Fancy a training session at Real Madrid? More than welcome to join us anytime."

And McGregor gladly accepted the offer, saying "My brother, thank you! The next time I am in Madrid I would be honoured."

Meanwhile, former two-weight UFC champion McGregor has been called out by YouTuber and celebrity boxer Jake Paul.

The Youtube star, 23, knocked out Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The former NBA star was knocked down once in the first round and then again in the second.

He beat the count on both occasions but looked in no fit state to continue.

Paul called out a number of people after the win, including McGregor, Dillon Danis and his own brother Logan Paul.

He said: “I’ve been training my ass off for the past year. I’m taking this seriously.

“There’s a long list of opponents that I want — Conor McGregor, Dillon Danis. I’m going to knock them both out."
