Conor McGregor teases WWE move as he hails WrestleMania champion Becky Lynch

Conor McGregor led the congratulations after Becky Lynch won the main event at Wrestlemania on Sunday night.

Lynch from Baldoyle in Dublin defeated former UFC world champion Ronda Rousey and eight-time world champion Charlotte Flair in the first ever women's headliner.

It was watched by 82,5000 fans at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey and tributes have poured in for the wrestler known as "The Man"

McGregor, who was rumoured to make a surprise appearance at the event, heaped praise on Lynch and teased a possible career of his own in the WWE.

The Notorious tweeted: "Congrats to Ireland's Becky Lynch, the WWE’s first Champ Champ. Wow! What a match these ladies put on!

"Ronda Rousey is something special in that ring, as is Charlotte Flair of the Flair dynasty!

"Stephanie McMahon you are right, I could not do what these athletes do. Or could I..."

There was also another Irish winner on the night as Finn Balor, who trained Lynch in his Bray gym, won the Intercontinental title.

A movie career could follow for Lynch with bookmakers going 8/1 about her following in the footsteps of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and becoming a Hollywood star.

And it is only 2/1 that there will be a movie made about her incredible rise in the wrestling world.

Ladbrokes' Nicola McGeady said: “Becky Lynch is an inspiration for many and the odds suggest a movie about her life could well be in the pipeline.

"Hollywood could come knocking on her door after her victory last night and it is not unlikely that she follows in the footsteps of The Rock.”
