Conor McGregor teases UFC Dublin fight with Diego Sanchez before deleting tweet

Conor McGregor jokingly teased UFC fans with a potential fight against Diego Sanchez after the American's win over the weekend.

Sanchez was a controversial victor over Michel Pereira who was in control of the fight when disqualified for an illegal knee in the third round of the contest.

The result prompted McGregor to tease a potential showdown with Sanchez, tweeting: "Conor McGregor Vs Diego Sanchez".

And the 31-year-old Dubliner didn't stop there as he retweeted a post from a fake ESPN MMA account that said: “UFC officially announces [Conor McGregor’s] long awaited return to Ireland! He will be facing future HoF legend [Diego Sanchez].”

Some fans got momentarily very excited about McGregor retweeting the announcement before realising all was not as it seemed.

The Notorious later deleted the tweet and his initial call out of Diego Sanchez.

Despite having a long-running war of words with the veteran American, it is highly unlikely that the pair will clash in the Cctagon.
