Conor McGregor slams Floyd Mayweather for John Gotti III debacle

Conor McGregor has taken aim at Floyd Mayweather for his performance in an exhibition bout with John Gotti III last weekend.

The fight was called off after six rounds with Gotti III being disqualified for holding. Gotti III kept swinging for Mayweather however and an ugly brawl ensued inside the ring.

McGregor, who famously fought Mayweather back in 2017, slated Mayweather for his showing in the fight and claimed that he 'wasn't impressed' by the undefeated legend's performance.

"I wasn’t that impressed, to be honest with you, wasn't impressed," McGregor told TMZ.

"I don’t know where [Floyd's] at. There’s no meaning behind it. He’s just here and there. There’s no meaning behind the bouts. There’s nothing to it. I enjoyed the brawl afterward more than I did the actual bout."

Mayweather retired from professional boxing after the McGregor bout in 2017 with an unblemished record of 50-0. In the six years since his last professional outing, the American has fought a series of exhibition bouts against the likes of Logan Paul and Deji.

McGregor would like to see Mayweather get back into the ring in a professional contest and seems eager for a rematch.

"We'll have a go if he wants!" said McGregor.

The Notorious will have to get through Michael Chandler first however and is expected to fight his Ultimate Fighter co-star at the end of this year.
