Conor McGregor shows injuries after being knocked off bike by car as fans urge him to delete photo

Conor McGregor has shared a photo showing his injuries after being hit by a car while out cycling.

The UFC star said he 'got away with his life' after the car ploughed into him on Friday afternoon as he cycled in the countryside near his home in Co Kildare.

Sharing a photo and two videos on Instagram, McGregor wrote: "Got a bang of a car just now from behind. A sun trap, the driver couldn’t see me. Full speed straight thru me. Thank you God, it wasn’t my time. Thank you wrestling and judo also. Having an awareness on the landing saved my life."

In one of the videos, the former two-weight champion could be heard saying: "All good mate, don't worry about it. That's nasty, I could have been dead there. Jesus Christ.. I got away with my life there, boys."

He later added in a clip with the driver of the car: "I'm here with Mick... Mick smacked me with his car.

"We've got the bike in the back, it wasn't our time, Mick, that's all. God bless, and we're f***in' still here, thank God. That's all that matters."

Hours later, McGregor shared a picture of his injuries which showed a large cut, as he captioned the image with a gorilla emoji.

However, some of the Dubliner's followers felt he may have shown off more than he had planned in the picture and urged him to delete it.

One wrote on a later post McGregor shared: "Delete the last post champ."

Another commented: "Delete the picture."

But others couldn't understand why so many people were telling him to take the snap down.

One person posted: "I’m so confused as to why people are telling him to delete it. I can see a pick of some sort of cut on a really well shaped body! The internet is full of it. Is he not showing that he’s got an injury?"

Another comment read: "Why is everybody upset about a side shot of an ass cheek? We see more during an MMA fight sometimes. Grow up ppl."
