Conor McGregor shock bombshell about 'talks claims' during Twitter Q+A with fans

Fighting megastar Conor McGregor has sensationally claimed he has held discussions to become a Celtic shareholder.

The 32-year-old Irishman is one of the most famous sports people on the planet due to his time in the UFC and a €100m boxing clash with Floyd Mayweather.

And now he states talks have taken place with Dermot Desmond about his shares to provide financial backing for the Parkhead side.

McGregor's bombshell comes after the 70-year-old principal shareholder insisted in March his shares "are not for sale".

The Dublin native made the claim when asked during a Twitter question and answer session if rumoured investment in Manchester United would take place.

He answered "A conversation came up regarding Celtic first to be honest. To acquire shares from Dermot Desmond.

"I am certainly interested in acquiring a sports team at some stage! Both Celtic and Man United are teams I like for sure.

"But I am open. I feel I could do big things for a club."

McGregor's affinity with Celtic is well known as he gave them a shout out during his live tour in 2017 and he enjoys a close bond with former star Kieran Tierney.

The Arsenal left-back has attended events alongside his idol who returned the favour by training in a Hoops top with Tierney's name on the back.
