Conor McGregor told Dubliners 'we can do this' amid rising Covid-19 cases and level 3 restrictions in the capital.
The 32-year-old has spent much of his time in France recently but took to social media to send a message to those in Dublin during a challenging time.
Social distancing measures have been put in place in recent days and those living in Dublin can only travel outside the county for essential reasons.
McGregor's message comes in the wake of UFC veteran Diego Sanchez telling the MMA world that he wants to end his career against McGregor in a 'dream' fight.
The American has enjoyed a storied UFC journey spanning over 15 years and 31 fights, and as he heads towards the twilight of his career, he's lining up some big fights to go out with a bang.
"I envision myself dominating these next three fights and finishing my career with Conor McGregor - that's my dream," Sanchez said.
The Notorious announced his shock retirement earlier in the summer, claiming he had become disillusioned with the sport that propelled him to fame as no fight excited him enough to return to the cage.
However, UFC bos Dana White revealed that he has been in contact with McGregor over a potential return to the octagon.
“We’re actually working on some fun stuff for Conor at the beginning of next year,” White told ESPN's SportsCenter.
“He should be back next year. I’m not saying he’s coming back to fight guaranteed, but we’re talking right now about some stuff.”
