Conor McGregor's weight: What the Dubliner weighed in at for Dustin Poirier fight

Conor McGregor made weight on the button for his UFC 257 showdown with Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi.

The Dublin fighter tipped the scales at 155lbs, while Poirier weighed in at 156lbs for the main event, which takes place in the early hours of Sunday morning Irish time.

Fighters are allowed to weigh in one pound over the division limit for non-title fights, so fight fans can now look forward to this keenly anticipated scrap.

McGregor has come down in weight for the lightweight clash, having weighed in at 170lbs for his welterwight bout with Donald Cerrone in January 2020.

This will actually be only the third time McGregor has fought at 155lbs despite holding the world title in 2016.

His last fight at the weight came in his failed bid to win the belt back from Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.

McGregor, standing at 5'9", was the first UFC fighter to score knockout finishes in the featherweight, lightweight and welterweight divisions — 145, 155 and 170 pounds, respectively.

Meanwhile, his opponent Poirier made the decision after losing to McGregor in 2014 to move up from featherweight to lightweight.

And the American has operated exclusively at 155lbs ever since, with his record thereafter reading 10 victories, two defeats (Michael Johnson and Khabib Nurmagomedov) and a no contest against Eddie Alvarez.
