Conor McGregor's niece Taylor pays emotional tribute after pet dog passes away

Conor McGregor’s niece has paid an emotional goodbye to her beloved pet dog Pixie.

Taylor McGregor took to Instagram to share the news that her pet sadly passed away, in a tribute to the ten years they spent together.

Posting to her Instagram story, she said: “Pixie you were a dream the past 10 years' followed by multiple love heart emojis.

“You will be missed so much.”

Taylor's mum Erin also took to Instagram to share her emotions, in the wake of Pixie's passing.

Her post read: “Pixie 12-06-22 pixie gave me the best 10 years. Never left my side from the moment I got her til the moment she passed. She was much more to me than a dog, she was my pal. I hope she knows how much she was loved.

"Rip buddy my heart is broken. Words don’t cut it right now #dog #pixie”.

Former Dancing with the Stars and camogie legend Anna Geary, also sent her condolences, by saying: “So sorry to hear that Erin”.

The news has come days after Conor McGregor made the decision to retire from fighting, and hung up his UFC gloves.

Meanwhile, former UFC heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier, has pleaded for the UFC to do everything they could to keep The Notorious active.

Speaking on the DC and Helwani show, he said: "Everything's just bigger when he competes. And the whole aspect of that is gone when he fights in front of no fans.

"So I get why there's a little hesitancy there. But it's not worth risking losing him for the long term because you can't make him happy right now.

"You gotta figure it out, you gotta make it happen. Again it's not worth the penalty if he walks away. It's not worth it, you gotta make it work for him."
