Dustin Poirier's head coach believes the American's trilogy fight with Conor McGregor could be the 'biggest pay-per-view of all time'.
The pair clash for a third time on July 10 after McGregor suffered a shock defeat to Poirier earlier this year.
The Diamond's long time head coach Mike Brown believes his fighter made the right choice by taking a trilogy bout with McGregor over a title shot.
Brown told MMA Junkie: “Yeah, this is the right choice. Conor is the biggest draw in this sport, and I think this well sell more pay-per-views than any other fight. This potentially will be the biggest pay-per-view of all time. It really has that capability, and it probably will. I believe that, and the title fight will always be there after.
“He’s still getting better all the time, and another guy who has paid his dues more than anyone. These are the guys that took the long road, the guys that deserve it more than anybody.”
Poirier has vowed to stop McGregor again on July 10 and Brown is also confident of victory for his fighter.
He added: “I think Conor believes that the calf kicks is what really was the major problem, but it wasn’t the calf kicks that knocked him out. So I like where we’re sitting in this fight, and I’m very confident going into it."
McGregor's coaches John Kavanagh and Owen Roddy both jetted out to Dubai earlier this week as the former two-weight champion steps up preparations for the trilogy bout.
The Dublin fighter could set up a title shot against recently crowned lightweight champion Charles Oliveira with victory over Poirier in Las Vegas.
