Conor McGregor's honest opinion of "YouTube kid" Jake Paul after $50million offer

Conor McGregor says he has no problem with YouTubers such as Jake Paul trying their hand at fighting.

And the Irishman admits he has been impressed with the amount of money the likes of Paul have made from the endeavor.

The American internet personality recently beat Nate Robinson as part of the undercard for the Mike Tyson v Roy Jones Jr. exhibition match.

The 24-year-old's brother Logan will take on Floyd Mayweather next month - and the younger sibling recently called out McGregor and challenged him to a $50m bout.

And while many have criticised the new YouTube boxing scene, speaking in an interview with Bloomberg McGregor defended Paul and co.

Jake Paul recently challenged Conor McGregor to a $50m fight (YouTube/!! HANDLE !!)

"If they are fighting well then it can't make a mockery of fighting," he said. "They're getting in and competing. I am not so much against it.

"What I will say though is the numbers that that show calculated was a Mike Tyson fight. You had an icon fighting as well as Roy Jones Jnr, two GOATs [greatest of all time] of combat sports.

"And then you had the YouTube kid and NBA star competing underneath that. So they done good business."

McGregor did, however, play down the chances of getting involved in a fight against Paul, insisting that he is a whole level above the challenger.

"Am I into those competitions myself? You know it's not the most high-level - if any level - at that stage," he continued.

"Obviously the Tyson vs Jones fight was very high level and very interesting to see what they're like in their older age. I thought they both fought amazingly.

"As they say, if it makes dollars, it makes sense. I know Dana and the UFC are not really into it, but I'm not so against it.

"I think if people are willing to get in and take the risk of making that walk, I'm certainly a viewer."

McGregor returns to the Octagon for the first time in a year in the early hours of Sunday morning to take on Dustin Poirier at UFC 257.
