Conor McGregor's family react to news of Dee Devlin engagement

Conor McGregor's family are overjoyed at the news of his engagement to Dee Devlin.

Fight superstar McGregor proposed to his long-time love on her 32nd birthday yesterday, 12 years after they first became a couple.

Dee Devlin's sister Sarah shared her heartwarming reaction to the announcement on McGregor's Instagram yesterday, replying to the post by saying: "My heart is so full for these two."

And she was not alone in expressing her delight for the couple as Conor's father Tony, sister Erin and niece Taylor all shared their congratulations.

Erin wrote: "@thenotoriousmma @deedevlin1 over the moon for these. Love use."

Taylor McGregor said: "Soo happy for yous @thenotoriousmma & @deedevlin1. Roll on the wedding."

And Tony celebrated by listening to Cliff Richard, while commenting: "Congratulations to the happy couple Conor and Deee."

A host of other stars sent their well-wishes to the famous couple on social media.

The Crumlin fighter's long-time MMA coach John Kavanagh - whose fiancee Orlagh Hunter gave birth to son Conall earlier this week - was among those to send his congratulations

Irish football legend Robbie Keane, TV presenter Glenda Gilson, Belfast MMA fighter Leah McCourt and American UFC ace Holly Holm also congratulated McGregor and Devlin.

The teenage sweethearts recently spent time on holiday on the French Riviera following McGregor's third retirement from fighting.

McGregor, a former featherweight and lightweight champion in mixed martial arts, has been outspoken in thanking Dee for staying with him even when he had "absolutely nothing".

"My girlfriend worked very hard throughout the years and stuck by me when I had essentially absolutely nothing," McGregor said.

"I only had a dream that I was telling her.

"For me to be able to take her out of work, give her everything she's ever wanted and to travel the world with her fills me with pride. It keeps me going."
