Conor McGregor's cryptic photo suggests Dustin Poirier fight prediction has changed

Conor McGregor has posted a cryptic photo which may be a thinly-veiled prediction for his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier this summer.

The Irishman faces Poirier for a third time on at UFC 264 on July 10 after losing their rematch in January - almost seven years after winning their first meeting.

Their first bout took place in 2014 and McGregor won within minutes of the first bell with a brutal TKO of the Louisiana native.

And many fans have noticed that in a seemingly innocuous photo posted to his 48million+ followers of McGregor enjoying the sun at his Dubai training camp, there is a reflection showing the stoppage from their UFC 178 meeting.

McGregor has previously indicated that he expects to dominate Poirier in their third fight, having been stopped in the second round four months ago.

He told fans on Instagram last month that he would defeat Poirier in the fourth round, saying: "The prediction is in! I’m going to win the trilogy fight via a front kick to the nose. Round number four [and] his nose needs straightening."

However, the former two weight world champion, who has been branded as 'Mystic Mac' for his eerily accurate fight predictions, was way out last time when he predicted another first round KO.

Meanwhile, Dustin Poirier is expecting that he'll be able to repeat the feat from their meeting in Abu Dhabi this January, saying that he predicts another stoppage.

Poirier told ESPN MMA : "I'm going to stop Conor again. On July 10 I'm going to get my hand raised and I'm going to finish Conor McGregor again."

When asked if he was going to beat McGregor faster than he did last time, he responded: "I don't do all of that. I just show up ready to scrap.

"The celebrity and power that Conor has I don't know if people, I mean a lot of people probably do realise that.

"But you go out there and you knock a guy out like that, it is like I've been fighting for 14 years and overnight you have one performance like that and everything changes.

"Things start to line up. Opportunities are more open and my phone hasn't stopped ringing. It's been a whirlwind since January 24."

The pair were bitter rivals before their first fight, but a mutual respect developed over the years between the pair and by the time the rematch rolled around, they were exchanging gifts at the weigh-ins.

And despite footage that emerged immediately after the bout showing the pair hugging and showing love to one another after the January fight, the relationship has since gone sour.

McGregor has said he wants to be a 'wild dog' going into the trilogy, where the winner will likely earn a shot at newly crowned lightweight champion Charles Oliveira later in the year.
