Conor McGregor returns to his roots at Crumlin Boxing Club

It was a trip down memory lane for Conor McGregor as he4 returned to his roots at Crumlin Boxing Club on Wednesday.

UFC superstar McGregor went back to where he first put on a pair of gloves as a 12-year-old and discovered a passion for the fight game.

The former "champ-champ" turned up this time in a dapper blazer and white shirt but quickly got into a tracksuit to hit the ring.

McGregor, who turned to mixed martial arts in his teens, did a training session on the pads as a group of youngsters watched on from the ropes.

The Crumlin native has been back in Dublin for the past number of weeks having spent a few months in America with his partner Dee Devlin and their young children Conor Junior and Croia.

He announced last month on social media that he was retiring from MMA but has kept training and is widely expected to make a comeback to the octagon later this year.
