Conor McGregor responds to Floyd Mayweather taunt for rematch in 2020

Conor McGregor insists a rematch with Floyd Mayweather is on the cards following taunts from the boxer for a fight in 2020.

Floyd Mayweather posted a mock up poster for a second bout following McGregor's impressive beating of Donald Cerrone in just 40 seconds kicking off his UFC comeback in style.

The taunt from 'Money' Mayweather teased a response from The Notorious who said Floyd "goes through money fast".

He said: "Ould Floyd, he's a funny man. Discussions are always ongoing, they never stop.

"You know Floyd and going through money fast so he's far from retired and that rematch will happen at some stage."

The mock up poster was shared on Mayweather's Instagram and read 'Mayweather McGregor 2020'.

But Mayweather might have to wait as McGregor doesn't look to be spending too much time outside of the Octagon this year.

McGregor looks set to stay fighting at welterweight and he says he doesn't care who he faces next as the 170lbs champion Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal looked on.

Speaking after the fight, McGregor said: "I'm going to party tonight, celebrate, spend time with my family and then get back in the gym and train.

"And anyone of these little mouthy fools can get it."
