Conor McGregor reacts to Floyd Mayweather announcing fight with YouTuber Deij

UFC star Conor McGregor has mocked Floyd Mayweather 's upcoming bout against YouTube boxer Deji.

Mayweather, 45, has been on an exhibition tour since retiring from boxing with flawless record of 50-0, stopping McGregor in the final professional bout of his career. 'Money' recently knocked out Japanese MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura in his latest exhibition having previously competed against former sparring partner Don Moore, YouTuber Logan Paul and kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.

Deji lost his first three boxing fights to Jake Paul, TikToker Vinnie Hacker and fellow YouTuber Alex Wassabi, but refused to give up on the sport. The 25-year-old picked up his first win in the ring on the undercard of his brother's undercard return in August by knocking out over Yusef 'Fousey' Erakat, putting him in a position to face Mayweather next month.

McGregor hosted a Twitter Q&A on Tuesday evening and was asked by a fan about his thoughts on Mayweather and Deji's upcoming exhibition, to which he replied: "Hahaa". Mayweather has stated his plans to rematch McGregor in an exhibition bout after his clash with Deji, but 'Notorious' has dismissed talks of a second fight by claiming he's " not interested ".

"Me and Conor McGregor in 2023. We don't know if it's going to be an exhibition of a real fight. But there's been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition," Mayweather told the Daily Mail. "I am not into fights where I am going to take any real punishment. So, guys like Conor McGregor and guys that don't really hit hard such as YouTubers or UFC guys, I don't really mind colliding with those kinds of individuals but nothing where I am going to put myself in a position where I am going to harm myself or hurt myself."

Mayweather and McGregor's illustrious 2017 'money fight' was a huge financial success but fell just short of the highest-selling fight in pay-per-view history, doing 300,000 less buys than the 4.6 million Mayweather's 2015 fight with Manny Pacquiao sold. McGregor, who is still recovering from a broken leg, has outlined his plans to make his UFC return before having another boxing fight.
