Conor McGregor offers olive branch to Machine Gun Kelly after altercation

Conor McGregor insists his altercation with Machine Gun Kelly has been blown out of proportion.

The former two-weight UFC champion was filmed throwing a punch and his drink in the direction of the rapper - real name Colson Baker - at the MTV Awards in New York on Sunday night.

It was rumoured that McGregor had asked the singer for a photograph but was rejected, something later denied by the Irishman's team.

And McGregor insists Baker, and girlfriend Megan Fox - are welcome to attend his fights in the future.

“I’ll tell you what happened,” McGregor told Adam’s Apple. “I’ll tell you what it is. I’m free here in New York City, you know what I mean? I’m back in New York. I got to go to the Barclays Center and I got to present an award.

"I was just going to have a good time, you know what I mean? That’s it, all love, it’s all good. Come to the next fight, come watch me perform any time. I’ll perform, no problem.

"Everyone is more than welcome to come to my fights, to the shows.

“There’s no beef. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t even know him. Who is he? You’re telling me he’s been at the fights.

"Megan has been at the fights for years. I know Megan. I don’t know the guy. There’s no problem. Come to the fights. There’s no problem.”

McGregor is currently recovering from the broken leg he suffered in the first round of his second defeat by Dustin Poirier in July.

He has been recuperating in Los Angeles but flew to New York for the awards ceremony.

Baker refused to comment on the scuffle on Sunday while at the time McGregor dismissed the incident.

"Absolutely nothing happened. I don’t know. He showed up, and I don’t know. I don’t know the guy," he told Entertainment Tonight .

"Nothing happened with me, I only fight real fighters, people that actually fight, you know what I mean.

"I certainly don’t fight little vanilla boy rappers. I don’t even know the guy. I don’t know anything about him, except that he’s with Megan Fox."

McGregor is unlikely to compete again before next summer as he looks to fight out the remaining two bouts on his UFC contract.
