Conor McGregor news: UFC star Paige VanZant gets tips from Notorious and shares naked training snaps

Conor McGregor offered tips to UFC star Paige VanZant after the fighter looked for feedback on her training video.

MMA ace and Instagram sensation VanZant uploaded a video of herself taking on a punchbag, while also dodging shots, and asked: “How did I do @notoriousmma??”.

McGregor had posted his own video training with the same piece of equipment days earlier - and he responded with a message complimenting VanZant and offering some advice.

“Excellent Paige! Slow it down and go through all the defensive patterns now. Catch the bar on the glove as well as hitting,” McGregor wrote.

“Roll under it. Pull from it. Double the sequences up and mix others in. Catch hit catch. Hit pull hit catch hit. Hit roll hit roll pull hit. Etc etc.

“Turn the fist down also, knuckles horizontal! You will punch with the fist horizontal in a fight, over vertical, so work as you will fight.

“Habits worked in the gym become habits in the fight … this machine is perfect for you. Just out of the cast also. Good luck."

McGregor had posted his own video training with the same piece of equipment days earlier.

26-year-old American VanZant is recovering from an arm injury and has been active on social media as she keeps fight fans up to speed with her comeback progress.

VanZant took to Instagram today to share a snap of a naked workout alongside her husband and fellow MMA fighter Austin Vanderford.

Meanwhile, McGregor's coach John Kavanagh set tongues wagging yesterday with a tweet teasing a potential clash between his star fighter and Tony Ferguson.

With the clash between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson looking set to be cancelled for the fifth time, Kavanagh appears to have suggested that McGregor could step up to take on 'El Cucuy'.

ESPN MMA journalist Ariel Helwani tweeted a poll with potential options for Ferguson, now that Khabib looks to be ruled out due to a travel ban.

The poll asked if Ferguson should take a fight with Justin Gaethje or wait for Khabib, but Kavanagh chimed in, saying: "Maybe there's a third option. . ."

The Straight Blast Gym coach's reply quickly went viral among fight fans.
