Conor McGregor news: Paulie Malignaggi would love chance to take on Notorious in 'winner takes all' fight

Paulie Malignaggi would love the chance to take on Conor McGregor in a "winner takes all" boxing match.

The American fighter has long been in a verbal war with the UFC star after they fell out in the build-up to McGregor's fight with Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor released videos of the pair sparring that appeared to show him knocking the American to the floor.

This prompted an angry reaction from Malignaggi who disputes that he easily had the Dubliner's measure during their sparring session.

Now Malignaggi wants to settle the score once and for all in a boxing ring with a cash prize on the line.

He told Boxing Scene: "The Conor McGregor fight always interests me.

"I will gladly do winner takes all the money in that fight. I will put my finances at risk because it will be a pleasure to beat that guy up.

"There would be a lot of money in the pot. I would rather let the winner take it all.

"He's dragged my name too much in the mud. He knows he will get the s*** beat out of him if he tries me.

"Him and I both know that. He gets stopped, 100 per cent, no doubt about it. He can't last the distance in a boxing match."

Malignaggi was last in action in a bare-knuckle fight with McGregor's pal Artem Lobov last year.

And the 39-year-old thinks that there would be a lot of interest in him taking on McGregor, who made his UFC comeback with a easy victory over Donald Cerrone in January, in a boxing ring.

"People argue that I'm not a big enough name for McGregor. Cerrone is definitely half the name that I am, and that's no shot at him, because he's done a lot in his MMA career.

"I'm a bigger fighter than Cerrone."
