Conor McGregor news: Notorious shares throwback to incredible four-second knockout that mirrors Jose Aldo knockout

If you thought Conor McGregor's 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo was quick - this blows it out of the water.

Back in 2011, years before his UFC breakthrough, the Dubliner was rising through the ranks and travelling Ireland for fights offering little or no money.

And it turns out his potential was glaringly obvious when he travelled up to Letterkenny in Donegal for a bout against Paddy Doherty that was over in the blink of an eye.

In fact, McGregor floored his opponent in just four seconds before the referee intervened, with the knockout coming in a frighteningly similar manor to the Aldo knockout in 2015.

McGregor's most dangerous weapon, the left hook, is unleashed on the step back as Doherty comes in to try and land a combination - just like Aldo.

He tweeted: "Up Letterkenny! Host to the second fastest knockout in mixed martial arts history. 3.5 seconds. The Step back bang left hook".

His coach John Kavanagh also chimed in, joking that in those days - with little money on the line - he wanted McGregor's fight to last longer than mere seconds after a long journey across the country.

The SBG shief said: "This was an 8hr roundtrip for less than 4 seconds. There was zero money involved those days so I actually did want to see some fighting".
