Conor McGregor news: Notorious has to admit impressionist has got him nailed down

Conor McGregor finally had to hold his hands up when an Irish impressionist pulled him off in pitch-perfect detail.

Impressionist Al Foran first made his name mimicking the UFC star before gaining a huge following for his takes on many famous names.

But the Notorious has always been Foran's bread and butter and the man himself couldn't help but concede the likeness when Foran recently parodied an interview between the Crumlin fighter and podcast host Joe Rogan.

Replying to Foran's video on Twitter, McGregor wrote: "Haha I’ll give you this one Al ya little ******"

The video has been viewed nearly 2.5m times and includes McGregor talking about his future plans, including a potential rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

It comes as McGregor has called on Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to take back his thank you to China for providing essential medical supplies.

The UFC superstar's reaction appeared to be in response to the news that some of the personal protective equipment sent from China did not meet HSE standards, which he called 'truly horrendous'.

Varadkar shared a photo on Twitter showing the Taoiseach on the phone to the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and explained the reason for the call, tweeting: "Spoke to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang this morning to thank China for sending essential medical supplies.

"Further shipments are on their way. Ireland has offered to help China in research and maintain close contact to #FlattenTheCurve"

McGregor responded angrily to the tweet, blasting: "Take back this thank you and offer of assistance, this instant!

"It is barbaric what has been done here. All the way throughout this pandemic. Barbaric! #FlattenTheirNose"

When Varadkar later tweeted a link for businesses to help out with supplies or services during the crisis, McGregor replied demanding 'Irish produced equipment items'.

He said: "We need Irish produced equipment items and we need it yesterday. Western produced at the least.

"Please if you can assist, enter here and join the fight to support our neglected front line staff.

"They do not deserve the treatment they’ve received over the years. Ireland stand up!"

McGregor has been vocal with his thoughts on how the coronavirus pandemic should be handled.

Last week, he promised €1million to provide protective equipment for healthcare workers in an exchange of Twitter messages with Varadkar's Fine Gael colleague, Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe.

The Minister congratulated the 31-year-old Dublin fighter on his achievements and encouraged him to promote social distancing online.

McGregor pressed for airport closures in a lengthy response, calling for 'more stringent measures' if closures were not to be considered.
