Conor McGregor was reminiscing on social media on Friday night which left fans excited about the possibility of a comeback.
The figher announced that he would be retiring on Monday.
Speaking about his retirement, Crumlin native Conor said on Twitter: "Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as “Mixed Martial Art” today.
"I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement. Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas."
He isn't a fan of the history books - and he reckons there's one big inaccuracy in the fight that will likely define his career.
McGregor knocked out UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo just seconds into their eagerly anticipated bout back in December 12th 2015.
And the general reporting is that the job was done at 13 seconds into the fight, but the 30-year-old doesn't agree at all.
So much so that he took to Twitter to vent his frustrations and demanded a recount before breaking the fight down in a series of tweets.
In one tweet he said: "I sparked Jose in 12 seconds I demand a recount."
And McGregor continued in another tweet: "It was 12! Look at this gif closely everyone and watch the clock.

"Now pass me my whiskey."
But the former two-weight UFC champ wasn't done, pointing out a striking coincidence before offering shots of his whiskey, Proper No. Twelve.

But a lot of fans are still dubious over Conor McGregor's recent retirement announcement, but his SBG Ireland teammate James Gallagher has claimed that he is serious about quitting the sport.
