Conor McGregor makes reference to Wicklow's Sugarloaf as he shares gym snap

Conor McGregor was happy to make reference to Wicklow Mountain the Sugarloaf in his latest Instagram post.

The Irish MMA star is back in Ireland after am extended stay in the USA as he continues to recover from his horror leg break and is hoping to get back fighting fit as he continues to spend time rehabbing in the gym.

And in his latest post, McGregor joked that his trap muscles could be mistaken for the popular Wicklow hiking spot.

The Sugarloaf is based in the Wicklow Mountains and is a 552 metre peak and is located near a number of popular hiking spots such as Lugnaquilla and Lobawn.

And McGregor said: "Is that the sugarloaf, no it’s me traps get your boots on" and endorsed his McGregor Fast programme.

McGregor recently analysed his performance against Poirier with the fight finishing as an injury stoppage.

McGregor has claimed he broke his leg much earlier than first thought as he lost to Dustin Poirier for the second time.

The Irish star was forced to retire from his UFC 264 meeting with Poirier after he suffered a horrific broken leg injury in the opening round.

And his rehabilitation is continuing as he plots a return to action, with the Irishman now seen back in boxing training as he steps up his comeback.

But he has now revisited a video from the trilogy contest with Poirier and claims he had broken his leg before he attempted to execute a submission.

McGregor posted on Twitter : "Good angle. Can see the leg was broke before I even stood up. It was broken before the guillotine even.

"It’s why I went for it. Four shots to zero here in this clip to close the fight before the injury. This fight was going my way 100 per cent. But big congratulations lads, yeah right. Rats.
