Conor McGregor makes Proper No Twelve whiskey 'giant leap forward' claim

Conor McGregor has claimed that his Proper No.Twelve whiskey has "advanced it’s positioning in the Irish whiskey rankings" and is heading for the number one spot.

The UFC star's whiskey hit shelves in 2018, with McGregor selling his majority stake in the company in a deal worth up to €540million last year.

And the former two-weight champion has now sensationally claimed that the brand is the "fastest growing Irish whiskey in all of history".

He posted on Instagram: "Proud to announce that Proper No. Twelve has advanced it’s positioning in the Irish whiskey rankings this week with another giant leap forward towards our eventual number 1 spot!

"We are the fastest growing Irish whiskey in all of history and with the latest figures just released, our projections are, to put it lightly, simply unstoppable!

"A credit to our amazingly smooth liquid gold Irish whiskey and to all the people around the world who love and enjoy it! As well as to my amazing company that gives so much back with all our committed work to first responder organizations worldwide!

"Congrats to all at @properwhiskey HQ and to all our support.

"Onwards and upwards we go, team!

"Sláinte."

McGregor previously claimed that he gave the first ever bottle of his whiskey to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who had it tested for poison.

Speaking at a press conference in Moscow back in 2019, the UFC star said: "Many people don't know, the very first bottle of Proper Twelve Irish whiskey, I gifted to Vladimir Putin.

"President Putin's security detail is second to none as I'm sure you know, you don't mess around with Vladimir.

"So, I gifted the bottle and I gifted it to his security.

“They had to take the liquid from the bottle to make sure the liquid was safe and it was not maybe poisoned or what not and then it was gifted to Vladimir Putin.

"I haven't got to speak to him since to see what he thought of it, although I'm sure he did have a taste and I'm sure he enjoyed it."
