Conor McGregor knows "the issue" after Liverpool humiliate Manchester United

UFC fighter Conor McGregor has weighed in on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's position at Manchester United following Sunday's thumping from Liverpool.

United fell to their third league defeat of the season as Liverpool ran out comfortable 5-0 winners at Old Trafford.

The result led to huge amounts of speculation over the manager's future, with many expecting him to be sacked as a result.

However, recent reports suggest Solskjaer is set to be given a chance to improve things, but McGregor, a long-time United supporter, believes the club legend should have his role 'rearranged'.

According to the Mirror, McGregor shared his views in a series of tweets, which have seemingly now been deleted.

He said: "The issue at United is it’s just bunch of young fellas talking to each other. Peers.

"You need some one above the group chat to take the helm. Ole was on the bench when Ronaldo played. A peer. Not enough.

"Love and respect Ole to the max but his role needs rearranged. My opinion."

One supporter jokingly replied "Ole out.", which prompted the Irishman to respond, calling them a 'fool' for wanting Solskjaer to be sacked.

"Never Ole out you silly fool," McGregor told the fan. "Ole is forever United!

"His role simply needs to be readjusted, and again, someone above the group chat needs brought in.

"Someone to command the young squad. God bless."

United are now seven points behind Liverpool after Sunday's defeat, Jurgen Klopp's side remain the only unbeaten team in the league.
