Conor McGregor makes Forbes’ top seven of social media’s most valuable athletes

Another day, another Forbes list for Conor McGregor.

He was listed by Forbes as the only non-soccer athlete to make the top seven of social media’s most valuable athletes.

McGregor (21-4 MMA, 9-2 UFC), a former two-division UFC champion, landed in fifth place with 159.7 million total interactions. That put him behind soccer superstars Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

McGregor recently has used his social media to promote his Irish whiskey, Proper No. 12, which reportedly has sold more than 200,000 cases since launching in 2018. He also promotes his luxury menswear brand, August McGregor, a brand that reflects his lifestyle.

McGregor hasn’t competed since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 by fourth-round submission at UFC 229 in October 2018. The former featherweight and lightweight champion has not revealed when he’s looking to return, but UFC president Dana White said it may be as soon as the end of the year.
