Conor McGregor has predicted that history will repeat itself when he takes on Dustin Poirier on January 23.
The 32-year-old shared his own poster for the fight after accepting a UFC offer to take on the man he defeated six years ago on his way to becoming a two-weight champion.
Taking to Instagram to post what appears to be an unofficial poster for the fight, showing McGregor landing a punch on Poirier, he wrote: "Another dusting for Dustin, incoming."
The Notorious was fresh from his famous UFC Dublin win over Diego Brandao when he last fought Poirier back in September 2014.
He handed the American his first UFC defeat on that occasion with a KO/TKO first-round stoppage in Las Vegas.
The 31-year-old Louisiana native has boasted a fine career since that loss and is currently the No 2-ranked fighter in the UFC lightweight rankings.
McGregor had expressed his desire to fight again before the end of the year, but his octagon return will now come in early 2021, almost exactly a year since his 40-second demolition of Donald Cerrone.
He has stated that he would like the bout to take place at the 80,000 seater AT&T Stadium in Texas, which is home to the the Dallas Cowboys, before facing Manny Pacquiao in a boxing bout later next year.
The Dubliner tweeted: "I accept, Jan 23rd is on! My goal is to see this fight take place in Cowboy stadium. Proper Style!
"Jerry Jones is a friend and the stadium can hold our crowd. I will be ready for Texas and Texas will be ready for my fans! Then Manny."
