Conor McGregor has bottle thrown at him by Dagestani man following fighter's Dagestan comments

UFC fighter Conor McGregor was forced to dodge a water bottle that was thrown at him during the Moscow press conference.

The Crumlin man added more fuel to the fire of a long time feud with Dagestan fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov on Thursday by saying: "I wouldn’t go to Dagestan to take a s**t, and that is the truth."

One of Khabib's compatriots did not take the comments lying down and confronted him in Russia.

The furious man asked McGregor: "Do you remember what you say about Dagestan people yesterday? If you hate Khabib and his team, why do you say bad things about people?’

McGregor attempted to explain himself, saying: "The disrespect they showed me in the build up to the fight, they sold items in the grocery with my face on it…"

But the man cut off the UFC star, shouting: "All the people? My father, my brother, you think are all cowards?"

McGregor replied: "Yes, yes, yes."

The Dagestani man continued: "Why cowards? My father? What did he do to you? My brother, what did he do to you?"

Then the man threw a water bottle at McGregor that the 31-year-old was able to dodge before security bundled the irate man away with the Crumlin repeatedly saying: "shut up you fool".

It comes as McGregor announced this week that he'll return to the octagon on January 18 in his first bout since he was choked out by lightweight champion Nurmagomedov.

He said: “I’m in prime physical condition, I’ve agreed the date with the company.

“As far as the opponent, I have the opponent’s name, but for me and the game that I’m in, and from experience, if I was to give you people the name - which I would love to do - I know the UFC would flip it because they are a crafty company.

“For me, here’s this one, ask the UFC who the opponent is because I do not give a f*** who the opponent is."
