Conor McGregor gives shout out to partner of old rival Nate Diaz ahead of his UFC debut

UFC fans are still waiting for that allusive trilogy fight between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor, but now the pair are finding common ground.

McGregor and Diaz came to blows twice in 2016 in two blockbuster bouts that saw Diaz inflict McGregor's first-ever UFC loss before the Dubliner avenged that defeat later in the year.

The pair have teased a potential third fight to officially settle their long-running beef, but yesterday it seemed as if they were almost finding common ground.

The Crumlin man took to Twitter yesterday to wish Kron Gracie well in his UFC debut.

The 30-year-old comes from the legendary Gracie family and currently boasts a 4-0 record in the sport - as well as being training partners with Diaz.

McGregor hailed the featherweight's debut as a 'very proud' moment for the family, wishing him luck as he faces Alex Caceres later tonight in Phoenix.

McGregor said: "Very excited to see Kron Gracie compete tomorrow in the UFC. Son of Rickson, partner of Diaz. So much lineage. Very proud and exciting moment here for the prestigious Gracie family. Remember that without this family, none of us would have a job we loved. Good luck and Respect."

McGregor is currently serving a six month ban from the sport for his part in the brawl that marred his UFC 229 bout with bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

And he has been enjoying some family time during the ban , and has been enjoying the sun with girlfriend Dee Devlin and children Conor Jr. and Croia.
