Conor McGregor gives Mystic Mac prediction for Dustin Poirier fight at UFC 257

Conor McGregor has vowed to knock Dustin Poirier out in less than a minute when they clash later this month.

The Notorious faces the American in the main event at UFC 257 in Abu Dhabi in the early hours of January 24.

McGregor believes Poirier is a great fighter, but stated great is "still levels below" him.

He said: “I like Dustin. I think he’s a good fighter.

“He’s even a great fighter. But great is still levels below me. I’ll knock Dustin out inside 60 seconds.”

McGregor was left bloodied over the weekend by sparring partner and pro boxer Dylan Moran.

Moran is part of the Dubliner's training camp for the bout, with Crumlin Boxing Club coach Phil Sutcliffe also lending his expertise to The Notorious in Dubai.

And in reply to a follower on Twitter, McGregor, 32, revealed details of an intense sparring session.

When a follower asked how the sparring went, the former two-weight UFC champion heaped praise on Moran.

He replied: "Very tough! I got a nice a shot that clipped the nose upward and made it bleed.

"The rounds were super close tho. Razor! Dylan is one of the better boxers I’ve ever shared the ring with. A phenomenally exciting Irish talent!"

Meanwhile, Poirier has pledged to draw blood himself when the pair meet six years on from a McGregor TKO win in Las Vegas.

"I didn’t even get to fight you know, the fight didn’t even get to blossom you know," Poirier said, reflecting on the 2014 fight.

"But that’s fighting, anything can happen under those lights. What I want is for us to both be dripping blood and hurting and suffering early in the fight.

"Then we can find out who’s a real fighter, you know, that’s what I want.

"I want to be bleeding with a minute off the first round clock. I want us both to be bleeding and really have to dig down and see who’s the better fighter, see who really wants to be in there."
