Conor McGregor fight news: UFC star Paul Felder wants bout with Notorious

Paul Felder has sent a message to Conor McGregor that he would be happy to fight the Dubliner.

The Notorious surprisingly called out Felder after destroying Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds at UFC 246.

And now 'The Irish Dragon' says he would be willing to take on the former two-weight champion.

Speaking on McGregor's call-out, Felder told The Schmo: “I had a fight lined up. So I didn’t mind looking into it too much. But it’s been a couple of times now that he has said some things to say to me."

He added: “It’s all positive in my eyes. When you’ve got somebody as big as Conor talking to you or calling you names. He can call me whatever he wants. What’s the worst thing that can happen. He wants to fight me. Let’s do it. We can have the Irish American vs the true Irishman.”

Felder's comments come after Nate Diaz questioned if McGregor will be true to his word of fighting three times this year.

McGregor has long claimed he sees 2020 as a three-fight "season" which he hopes will culminate in him being lightweight champion for a second time.

His second of three bouts could take place in July with Diaz and Justin Gaethje the frontrunners to be in the opposite corner.

McGregor and Diaz shared the octagon for two epic fights in 2016, winning one each to leave their rivalry finely poised.

And Diaz took to Twitter to say: "What happened to your season? I was already back in by now wtf."

The American was referring to his back-to-back fights against Anthony Pettis and Jorge Masvidal last year which were actually almost three months apart.

McGregor is also waiting for the outcome of current 155lb champion Khabib Nurmagomedov's title defence against Tony Ferguson next month.

UFC president Dana White remains keen on rematching McGregor and Nurmagomedov following their clash in 2018 which the Russian won by fourth-round submission.

"Khabib, if he wins – but I don’t know if Conor wants to wait for him. We’ll see what happens," White told TMZ. "Conor might not wait.

"They hate each other. If you think you’re going to do an interview with Khabib and he’s going to say great things about Conor McGregor , it’s never going to happen.

"If you interview Conor McGregor, he’s never going to say great things about Khabib. They hate each other.

"First of all, Conor does not hand pick his opponents. Conor McGregor has fought anybody that we’ve asked him to fight and who’s been available.

"I mean, guys have pulled out on Conor two or three times. Conor literally went to the gym and said, 'Tell me who I’m fighting'."
