Conor McGregor fight: Dustin Poirier's wife has 'shock' message ahead of UFC 257

Dustin Poirier's wife Jolie expects her husband to 'shock the world' when he faces Conor McGregor on January 23.

McGregor and Poirier are preparing to step into the octagon together for the second time, with the American hoping to avenge a 2014 TKO loss to the Dublin fighter. And the Poirier camp is in confident mood ahead of the big fight.

While congratulating Dustin on the winning of a recent award on Instagram, Jolie wrote: "Congratulations to the hardest working man I know! I love you so much @dustinpoirier & cannot wait to watch you shock the world January 23rd! Less than 4 weeks to go #obnoxiouscountdown #almosttime #ufc257 #teamdiamond #destructioninthedesert #fightisland #mcm #proudwife"

Meanwhile, Poirier has said that he is hoping for a bloody battle against McGregor in Abu Dhabi.

"I didn’t even get to fight you know, the fight didn’t even get to blossom you know," 31-year-old Poirier said, reflecting on the 2014 fight.

"But that’s fighting, anything can happen under those lights. What I want is for us to both be dripping blood and hurting and suffering early in the fight.

"Then we can find out who’s a real fighter, you know, that’s what I want.

"I want to be bleeding with a minute off the first round clock. I want us both to be bleeding and really have to dig down and see who’s the better fighter, see who really wants to be in there."
