Conor McGregor fans concerned after "horny" UFC star's "dead rats" message

Conor McGregor's latest tweet-and-delete message has concerned fans after his account declared that he was "horny" and wanted to write a book about "dead rats".

The UFC star is currently enjoying the Christmas period with his fiancee Dee Devlin and their three kids Conor Jr, Rian and Croi. He and Devlin have been jet-setting around the world and meeting his extended family, with the Irishman posting a series of tweets and Instagram messages that have worried his followers.

Just this week, he has already elicited hundreds of comments from fans who were keen to know if he was okay after posting and deleting a strange series of photos on Instagram showing himself touching his neck in a strange way. And this latest, seemingly nonsensical tweet, drew similar responses.

"I'm so horny I could write a book on dead rats," McGregor's account posted to his 9.7million-plus followers in a tweet that was quickly removed. Despite the message only lasting a matter of minutes on the website, it garnered a massive number of replies, given the size of his following on social media.

Some fans questioned if the Irishman had been hacked, similar to how TV host Piers Morgan had his account compromised this week, while others simply asked "What the f***" the post was about?" Others asked McGregor if he was okay, while one American joked that his "Dublin humour is something else".

McGregor shared a number of photos to his Instagram after a similar spree the night before, including a selfie of him and Devlin in the back seat of one of his glamorous cars. He captioned the picture: "Who's drivin'? Not us", with the blurry picture showing him smoking next to his fiancee.

He also shared pictures with his mother Margaret and his son Rian, as well as Irish ring announcer Terry Kavanagh, who had just proposed to the fighter's sister Erin live on stage at a Pantomime performance in Dublin. McGregor captioned the picture with a message of congratulations for Kavanagh on his engagement.

McGregor's social media activity has become one of the key things that keeps him in the headlines since he broke his leg in July of 2021 and was forced out of action for almost two years. He hasn't fought since and appears to be slowly but surely working towards a return which he insists will be booked in February next year.

He frequently finds himself in Twitter spats with famous fighters and celebrities and has become known for tweeting controversial messages before hastily deleting them. Under his Instagram pictures, McGregor's fans joked that he would likely delete the posts in the morning after doing similar the day before.
