Conor McGregor has made an amazing €30,000 donation to the family of a young Dublin girl who is fighting for her life.
Six year-old Aaliyah was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour back in July after feeling nauseous and having vision problems.
Aaliyah's family were given heart-breaking news as scans had shown the worst case scenario that they had discussed before with doctors had came true.
It was a high grade malignant brain tumor, also known as Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), the most deadliest brain cancer in children with fewer than 10% surviving two years from diagnosis.
With no cure available, the family set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money to go on on a trial treatment in America called ONC201, that can significantly improve Aaliyah's quality of life.
With a target of €40,000 to be raised, UFC superstar Conor McGregor stepped in and made a generous donation of €30,000 which pushed the money raised well over the needed amount.
Responding to the fundraiser on twitter after being asked to donate, McGregor said: "Stephen, that is done! God bless this strong little lady and her family, we are with yous all the way let’s go!"
Fans were delighted with the heartwarming gesture, with one tweeting: "Omg pal you are a legend, this is going to help the family so much thank you so much you are insane!!!@TheNotoriousMMA!! Champion in every way pal!"
Another supporter branded him "the people's champion".
