Conor McGregor coins new nickname as he trains for UFC return

Conor McGregor has coined a new nickname as he ramps up training for his potential UFC return against Dustin Poirier in January.

The Dubliner shared a glimpse of preparations for his next fight and added to his 'Notorious' and 'Mystic Mac' nickames by labelling himself 'The Pay Per View Monster'.

McGregor, 32, promised a fan on Twitter that he is 'raring to go' for a clash against Poirier, who he beat in Las Vegas six years ago. However, the fight has yet to be officially confirmed by the UFC.

“I am raring to go and in the best place I’ve ever been,” he told the fan.

“Excited to show my practices to the world! Still awaiting official confirmation however.”

His latest social media post came after McGregor has sent a message to America with the world awaiting the announcement of the US election result.

Votes continue to be counted to declare who will take the Presidency for the next four years - Donald Trump or Joe Biden.

McGregor tweeted: "God bless America, land that I love Stand beside her and guide her Through the night with the light from above."

The UFC star's tweet came as Trump broke his 36 hour silence amid the mammoth election count with a fiery tirade in which he claimed he was being 'cheated'.

TV networks shut the US President down in their droves as he claimed he was the victim of a conspiracy by "big media, big money and big tech" for "historic election interference".
