Conor McGregor claims he would party Nate Diaz 'under the table' as he shares video of yacht party

Conor McGregor has claimed he would party Nate Diaz 'under the table' as the Dubliner shared a video of him partying in Dubai.

The Notorious wrote a series of tweets about his UFC rival today after it was announced that Diaz was returning to the octagon to fight Leon Edwards on May 15.

But it all started when McGregor insisted a custom-made ‘McGregor belt’ should be specially made for the winner of the widely expected trilogy fight between himself and Dustin Poirier this summer.

While retweeting an old video where he previously mentioned the idea, the former Featherweight and Lightweight champion wrote: “I feel it’s time to break out this baby for the next fight. I ask the UFC to please create The McGregor belt. I suggest rose gold and rubies. Think patek rare.”

The MMA superstar was referring to the luxury Patek Philippe watches which can cost up to $3million (£2.2million), although a rare model was sold at auction for $31million (£22.5million) in 2019.

McGregor’s original reference to having his own belt came in 2016, ahead of his UFC 157 bout against Nate Diaz.

In the build up to the fight, in which he was about to make his debut at Welterweight level, McGregor boasted that his status elevated him beyond classification.

“It doesn’t matter what weight, divisions or anything,” he said. “Or even what belt is on the line. Because really I should create my own belt. Because I am, myself, my own belt.

“It doesn’t matter featherweight, lightweight, welterweight. It’s the McGregor belt.“

A fan then chimed in on McGregor’s post, saying it was “crazy” they created a belt for Diaz first (the “BMF” title that Diaz fought for in 2019).

“Isn’t that crazy! Who’s the real bad motherf****r anyway?” McGregor responded. “Went up two weight divisions on a weeks notice to fight him for that fight. No hesitation. Straight onto my jet. In thru the side door. Surprise, surprise.”

McGregor did not stop there though.

After Diaz defeated McGregor in 2016 at UFC 196, Diaz said he was with friends on a yacht in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, before accepting the fight.

“What yacht was Nate on in Cabo that time ?” wrote McGregor. He continued: “You can’t just go around calling regular boats, yachts.

"The rhetoric spread around in this business is disgraceful at times. ‘Nate was partying on a yacht in Cabo.’ I demand to see this ‘yacht.’ He was fighting for 20k at that exact time. 20k show. 20k win was his exact purse.”

Then, for good measure, McGregor shared a video of himself partying on a yacht:
