Conor McGregor branded a "b****" after picking fight with Rafael Dos Anjos

Conor McGregor and Rafael Dos Anjos have reignited their rivalry after clashing on Twitter.

UFC star McGregor was due to challenge Dos Anjos in 2016 when the Brazilian held the lightweight title. Dos Anjos pulled out of the fight two weeks before the event and McGregor would instead suffer his first UFC loss to Nate Diaz on the card.

Dos Anjos lost consecutive fights to Eddie Alvarez and Tony Ferguson after he recovered from his injury. The losses prompted a move up to welterweight for the Brazilian, but he has always kept a rescheduled fight with McGregor on his radar.

'RDA' trolled Jorge Masvidal for his recent arrest on Twitter and called for a fight with the 'BMF' champion, to which McGregor replied: "Pulled out with a sore toe in what would have been the biggest fight of your bloodline’s existence. Past, present, and future. You are never eligible."

The UFC rivals almost got into it in Las Vegas when they crossed paths at UFC 264 last year, with Dos Anjos reminding McGregor of the incident by replying: "Says the b**** that needs bodyguards to go weigh in and taps to rear naked chokes too scared to go to sleep…"

McGregor finds himself three spots under Dos Anjos in the lightweight rankings at No.9. The former two-weight champion hasn't won a fight at 155-pounds in six years, recently suffering back-to-back defeats to Dustin Poirier at the weight class

Dos Anjos fought for the first time in over a year earlier this month when he outpointed Renato Moicano at UFC 272. The 37-year-old called for a rescheduled fight with McGregor after his win.

"I think the world that we live in right now, that fight would make a lot of sense," he said of fighting McGregor. "I was on a 16-month layoff, Conor broke his leg and is coming back in the summer. Conor is a big name, he sells a lot of pay-per-views, that would be a big money fight.

"We have a history too. I'm looking for names that make me want to go to the gym and train. I don't want to fight names that don't interest me, so I think he would be the fight that would motivate me to work hard."

Dos Anjos is also hoping to challenge for Masvidal's 'BMF' title if McGregor decides to not face him, but with Masvidal recently being arrested and charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief that fight is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
