Conor McGregor believes he 'picked apart' Floyd Mayweather and would win rematch

Conor McGregor is determined to fight Floyd Mayweather for a second time - and insists he would avenge his loss.

McGregor was stopped in the 10th round by the boxing legend in 2017 in what was the Irishman's professional debut.

Mayweather toyed with the former two-weight UFC champion before finishing the fight seemingly at a time of his choosing.

But McGregor insists he would have won that fight had his opponent not changed his style mid-bout.

"I'd like to rematch Floyd, I think we should rematch Floyd," he told ESPN. "He's flirting with it and he could choose someone else but it wouldn't be the same.

"I was phenomenal in that bout, the only reason I lost was because I prepared for a back-footed Philly Shell style of opponent. When the fight was like that, I was picking him apart then he came forward and started pressing.

"I wasn't sinking into my shorts like I am now with my boxing coaches under my belt. I know I would beat him if we rematch, when we rematch.

"It's going to happen again but I am open to other boxing bouts."

McGregor also revealed he has held talks with eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao over a future boxing fight.

The Dubliner also holds out hope of fighting former two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi with whom McGregor had a bitter row in the build-up to his fight with Mayweather.

"We are close to signing Manny... there have been talks about the Manny fight," he added.

"There was an offer made on that... just not yet, but it's a possibility... then there's the Paulie fight, there's a buzz about that.

"I will box again, I will win a boxing world title. I love boxing and I'm damn good."
