Conor McGregor backs East Wall locals after latest protests

Conor McGregor has backed East Wall locals after their latest set of protests.

Locals have taken to the streets after they have concerns over the housing conditions and location of an asylum centre without consultation with locals.

And dozens protested on Friday evening causing traffic disruption from East Wall Road towards the 3 Arena.

UFC star Conor McGregor was asked about the protests on Twitter and said he stands with East Wall locals.

McGregor said that he wants to run for President and was asked by users about the East Wall protests..

One user posed the question: "Okay you want to be a Politician. Solve this: What would you do about the East Wall protests? And don't duck the question."

And he said: "I stand with the people of East Wall. And no I do not want to be a politician. Just that they have to answer to me."

McGregor took to social media as he slammed Leo Varadkar's reappointment as Taoiseach.

He said: "My input is I have no issue with Michael [sic] Martin. I feel he is as likeable as it comes in the space. Varadkar, different. He should not be stepping in to lead our country.

"What a strange time. Watching"
